The box office of two films at once, the sports drama F1: The Movie from Apple and the first superhero film in the DC Universe Superman, exceeded $600 million in the last week. This is reported by Deadline.
F1: The Movie, which premiered in Ukraine on June 26, 2025, grossed $603.4 million, of which $185.9 million was in the United States, while 69% or $417.5 million was collected worldwide. This is the biggest worldwide box office for Brad Pitt, who played the lead role in the film.
In late July, it was reported that the film had grossed over $500 million, and analysts were predicting a final box office take of around $550 million. But the film, which cost over $250 million to produce, needed to gross over $600 million to break even — and it did.
In turn, Superman, which premiered a little later, on July 10, has already collected $604.5 million. Unlike sports dramas, superhero films owe most of their collections to the US market - $347 million versus $257.5 million in global box office.
Both films proved to be a great success, particularly for Warner Bros. Pictures, which worked on them alongside DC Studios and Apple Studios.
