Sony is starting to roll out a new system update for the PlayStation 5 that makes it easier to use the DualSense controller with different devices and adds new power efficiency settings for the console, the company announced on its blog.

After the update, the controller will be able to remember up to four connections. To set up multi-profile switching, you need to turn off the controller, then hold down the PS button together with one of the action buttons (triangle, circle, cross or square) for more than five seconds. After that, the light bar and touch pad will flash twice, signaling that it is ready to pair. Each of the buttons is responsible for a separate connection slot, allowing you to quickly switch between console, PC or mobile devices.

To change the connected device, simply hold down the PS button along with the selected action button. The controller supports Windows, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, and Android, making it easy to use not only with the console, but also with cloud services and mobile games.

The update also introduces Power Mode Saver, which reduces the console's power consumption by reducing performance in supported games. The first compatible titles will be Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, Demon's Souls, and Ghost of Yōtei. This feature is disabled by default, so game performance will not change without user activation. Sony specifically emphasized that if the game does not support this mode, there will be no performance reduction.
