Microsoft has updated Copilot for Windows, adding the ability to create Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF documents directly from chat, as well as connecting Gmail and Outlook accounts. The update is available now to Windows Insiders and will be available to all Windows 11 users later.
Now the user can simply describe the request in Copilot, and the assistant will automatically generate an editable file in the desired format. For long answers — more than 600 characters — an export button appears in the chat window, allowing you to quickly open the created material in Word, PowerPoint, Excel or save it as PDF.
Copilot also has support for external services. The user can connect Outlook, Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, or Google Contacts so that the assistant can access emails and contacts. For example, you can ask Copilot to find all invoices from a specific company in your inbox or the email address of a specific client. Connecting services is optional and requires user permission.
Recall that Microsoft also recently launched Windows AI Lab, a pilot program for testing experimental AI features immediately in the stable version of Windows 11.
