Remedy Entertainment has announced that its adventure game Control Ultimate Edition will be coming to iPhone, iPad, and the Apple Vision Pro augmented reality headset. It is expected to be released in early 2026.
On Apple devices, the game will support controls via gamepad or touch input. Remedy is not revealing any additional details at this time.
Control Ultimate Edition was also released for Mac in March 2025. Remedy originally wanted to release its game on Apple's computer back in February, but unspecified reasons forced the company to postpone the release for some time.
Control is a supernatural third-person action game in which the player becomes the director of a secret agency in New York City after an otherworldly threat invades. To survive and uncover a new mystery, you will need to use a combination of supernatural abilities, weaponry, and a dynamic environment.
The Ultimate Edition is the full version of the game, which includes the base game and the Foundation and AWE (Altered World Events) expansions. Remedy has also announced the development of a sequel to Control, but no details are available yet.
By the way, despite Apple's ambition to make the iPhone a portable device for gamers, releases of big AAA projects like Control tend to flop. Last year's report showed that most such games are not popular on smartphones.
