OpenAI is updating ChatGPT for paid subscribers with a memory feature. The chatbot will be able to reference past conversations, providing a more personalized experience, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman announced.
ChatGPT will be able to remember users' preferences and interests, which will help to better tailor the interaction with the chatbot. Users will also have the opportunity to add information to the memory themselves, simply by asking ChatGPT to "remember" a certain fact. If desired, this feature can be disabled in the settings in the "Personalization" section or delete individual saved data.
The update is already available for ChatGPT Pro subscribers, and will soon be available for ChatGPT Plus. However, these features will not work in the EU, UK, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein for now.
