Battlefield Studios has released a trailer for the Battlefield 6 story campaign during PlayStation's State of Play show. The video showcases global combat operations involving various armies and special forces, including the CIA, SAS, and Delta Force, as well as intense combat scenes with vehicles and night operations.
Set in 2027, with NATO on the brink of collapse and the private military corporation Pax Armata attempting to capitalize on the chaos and shift the balance of power in the world, players will take control of an elite marine unit, Dagger 13, as they undertake missions across multiple continents.
The trailer showcases a variety of locations and tactical scenarios, from night assaults using thermal imaging and night vision to large-scale battles with armored vehicles and aircraft. Players will be able to participate in global operations spanning multiple continents, including urban areas, deserts, and mountainous regions.
Multiplayer will feature a new mechanic that allows matches to be ended early. This should reduce player frustration and make matches more dynamic, although the traditional dramatic comeback situations will become less likely.
Battlefield Labs has also reopened testing access for the upcoming battle royale mode, which is set to rival Call of Duty: Warzone. Testers will be able to try out new maps and mechanics, including an updated system of weapons, vehicles, and team missions.
