Asus has announced the launch of the Android 16 beta program for the ROG Phone 9 and ROG Phone 9 Pro smartphones. Users of these models can register to test the new version of the operating system right now. At the same time, the ROG Phone 9 FE model, which was released in February, is not included in the program.
Both ROG Phone 9 series smartphones were released with Android 15, and Asus promised only two updates — Android 16 and Android 17. The Android 16 beta was the first of these updates. On August 14, a similar program was launched for the Zenfone 12 Ultra.
To join the test, users need to go to their smartphone settings, select the "System" section, go to "System update", click on the gear icon in the upper right corner and select "Participate in the Android Preview Program". After reading the terms, click "Agree" and complete the registration.
Asus warns that after installing the beta version of Android 16, it will be impossible to return to the stable version of Android 15. The company also did not specify the duration of testing, and users should expect possible errors in the operation of the device.
