Apple plans to release a lighter and more affordable version of the Vision Pro in 2027. This was reported by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
The upcoming device, which he calls Vision Air, will be more than 40% lighter than the current model. The Vision Pro weighs about 625 grams, so the new product could weigh around 450 grams.
Kuo also claims that the Vision Air will be more than 50% cheaper, which will make it much more attractive to buyers. Since the Vision Pro costs $3,499, the new version could arrive with a price tag of $1,750. That's more expensive than an iPhone, but closer to the cost of top-end Mac models and likely comparable to the price of the upcoming foldable iPhone.
According to previous leaks, the Vision Air will feature a titanium internal structure to reduce weight, a thinner body, and a new battery pack.
Kuo believes that Apple will be able to sell about 1 million Vision Air in 2027, while Vision Pro shipments are around 400,000.
Recall that Apple will hold a presentation on September 9, 2025, at which it will introduce the iPhone 17 and other new products.
