Amazon is testing delivery with humanoid robots

5 June, 06:29 PM

Amazon is developing new software for humanoid robots that will allow them to deliver groceries, Reuters reports, citing a report by The Information.

The company is currently completing construction of a "humanoid park" - an obstacle course in one of the company's offices in San Francisco, where new robot capabilities will be tested.

The process itself will use software using artificial intelligence. Amazon currently plans to use equipment from other companies for testing.

According to an original report by The Information, using this software, humanoid robots will be able to take jobs away from company employees.

As a reminder, in early May, Amazon announced the creation of a touch-sensing robot, Vulcan. It will be used in the company's sorting centers, where more than 750,000 different robots already operate, performing a variety of tasks, from sorting to moving heavy packages.
