Amazon is releasing an update with artificial intelligence Alexa Plus for its voice home assistant. It will be available to almost all Alexa devices starting with the Echo Show 8. This is reported by The Verge.
Amazon explains that Alexa Plus is a model diagnosis system that uses Amazon’s own Nova model as well as Anthropic models. The company says it will choose the best model for each task.
Alexa Plus will be able to interact with the user, book tickets to events or send invitations. At the same time, smart home control functions, such as controlling lights or cameras, will remain available. Amazon demonstrated a scenario where a user can ask Alexa if someone walked the dog, and she will respond by checking the recordings from the cameras.
Alexa will now be able to find songs based on a rough description or motif, and rewind a movie to a specific scene based on a user's description. In addition, Amazon is partnering with artificial intelligence song generator Suno to create songs based on user requests.
Amazon's director of Alexa, Mara Segal, demonstrated that users will be able to share notes, recipes, emails, instructions, and photos with Alexa , which the assistant can reference later. For example, Segal asked Alexa to read a housing association document and analyze its rules for solar panels.
Alexa Plus will be available as a subscription for $19.99 per month, but will also be included in the Amazon Prime package. A separate app will be released for Alexa Plus.
