Adobe has announced that its Premiere video editor will soon be available on the iPhone, and it will be free. The release is scheduled for September 30th, and the app already has a page in the App Store. The company is also working on a version for Android.

The app will feature a multi-track timeline similar to the desktop version of Premiere, with vibrant colors and multiple audio formats. Users will be able to trim, layer, and edit videos with frame-accurate accuracy. There will also be automatic subtitles with stylized design, unlimited video, audio, and text layers, 4K HDR support, and many other features.

Premiere Mobile will also get generative AI features. In particular, the Generative Sound Effects tool will allow you to create sound effects using text prompts or your own voice. The Enhance Speech feature will make recorded voice clear and crisp.

Premiere mobile will also include Adobe Firefly, which provides access to video, photo and audio assets and allows users to create their own video elements using text prompts. As with the desktop version, users will be able to use Adobe Stock assets and Adobe Fonts.

Although the iPhone app will be free, Adobe notes that users who want more cloud storage and advanced generative AI features will have to pay.

Recall that earlier this year, Adobe also introduced a new Photoshop app for smartphones with AI support and integration with the web version. The app first appeared on iOS, and in June it was released on Android.
