Acer announced the Acer Swift 16 Air laptop at IFA 2025 in Berlin, one of the lightest 16-inch laptops on the market. In the IPS-screen version, it weighs only 0.99 kg, which is lighter than the 13-inch MacBook Air, which weighs 1.24 kg. This is reported by Engadget.
The AMOLED panel model weighs 1.1 kg, but offers a higher WQXGA+ resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, full DCI-P3 coverage, and up to 400 nits of brightness.
The model is powered by AMD Ryzen AI 300 series processors with integrated Radeon 860M/840M/820M graphics, supports Copilot+ PC features in Windows 11, including Recall, Click to Do, and enhanced search. The laptop has up to 32GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 1TB PCIe Gen4 SSD storage.
Two 16:10 display options are available:
- WQXGA+ AMOLED (2880×1800), 120 Hz, 400 nits brightness, 100% DCI‑P3.
- WUXGA IPS (1920×1200), 60 Hz, with longer battery life.
Battery life is up to 13 hours. The new product has a 2 MP webcam with IR sensor and shutter, two microphones, stereo speakers, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4. As for ports, there are 2×USB‑C, 1×USB‑A and HDMI 1.4.
The Swift 16 Air will be available in Europe, the Middle East and Africa in November in four colors (Light Silver, Fresh Blue, Steel Gray, White). The asking price is from €999.
