During New York Comic Con, the premiere of the teaser for the series "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" - a new series in the world of Game of Thrones, created based on the book Tales of Dunk and Egg by George R. R. Martin.
The series adapts the first story in the series, The Hedge Knight. The events unfold 50 years after House of the Dragon and 100 years before Game of Thrones. The Targaryen dynasty still sits on the Iron Throne, and the last dragon is alive in people's memories. The plot centers on the wandering knight Ser Duncan the High (Dunk) and his squire Egg, the young prince Aegon Targaryen.
Peter Claffey played Dunk, and Dexter Saul Ansel played his companion Egg. The series will also feature:
- Finn Bennett as Prince Aerion "Brightflame" Targaryen;
- Burt Carvel as Prince Baelor "Spearbreaker" Targaryen, heir to the throne;
- Tanzin Crawford is a puppeteer from Dornu Tansel;
- Daniel Ings as Knight Lionel Baratheon;
- Sam Spruell is Prince Maekar Targaryen, Egg's father.
According to Martin, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will have a lighter tone than previous series in the universe, although "it's still Westeros, so no one can be truly safe." The author also noted that this time around there was more emphasis on medieval tournaments - and he tasked the team with creating "the best jousting scenes ever filmed."
The series will premiere on January 18, 2026 on HBO Max. Since the service is officially entering the Ukrainian market, it is expected that the show will be available in Ukraine at the same time. It will probably also be available to watch on MEGOGO.
