Rebel Monkey Production has announced a short film based on the game Silent Hill 2. The teaser appeared on the company's YouTube channel.
The synopsis of the movie, called Silent Hill: A Letter to James, repeats the synopsis of the original game: "James Sunderland receives a letter from his late wife, Mary, drawing him to the eerie town of Silent Hill. There, he confronts haunting monsters, unsettling truths, and a mysterious woman resembling Mary, in a chilling journey of love, guilt, and redemption."
Silent Hill: A Letter to James is not Rebel Monkey's first film dedicated to video games. The studio recently released the short film Alan Wake: Unfinished Chapter, based on the events of Alan Wake 2, as well as Memory Card, a movie about finding hidden coordinates on old video game cartridges.
Founded by director Stanislav Puzdriak in 2017 in Chernivtsi, Rebel Monkey Production has offices in Ukraine and the United States, and most of its employees are Ukrainian.
