The new Samsung QD-OLED, Neo QLED, The Frame, and The Frame Pro TVs will feature Vision AI artificial intelligence. According to reports, the company cooperated with most of the major players in the industry, including OpenAI, to develop it, South Korean media outlet Maeil Business reported.
The company can use OpenAI’s GPT, Dali, Whisper, and o1 models to implement features such as personalized content recommendations, chatbot, multitasking support, real-time translation, personalized healthcare services, and entertainment on Samsung TVs.
The chatbot will facilitate the transfer of movie information search from a smartphone to a TV. Thanks to Vision AI, users will be able to get recommendations for movies similar to those they have recently watched. The bot will also be able to answer questions about the plot of a movie or an actor. This will avoid the need to take a smartphone and search for information manually.
By the way, apart from OpenAI AI models, Samsung also says that some Vision AI capabilities are based on Microsoft Copilot models. In addition, the company talks about cooperation with Google to expand the AI functions of smart TVs.
