Astrohaus, a company specializing in equipment for writers, has unveiled its new Freewrite Wordrunner keyboard at CES 2025. This was reported by TechCrunch.

The company has made a name for itself by ignoring most technological trends, focusing only on writer productivity.

The Freewrite Wordrunner is essentially a classic mechanical keyboard with a few unique features, such as a word counter and a sprint timer for writing texts.

The main idea is to integrate productivity tools directly into the product. Astrohaus offers a way to avoid using writing programs and focus solely on the writing process.

The keyboard is made of aluminum, has floating keys and a red control knob.

“Writers use keyboards more than almost anyone else, yet they’ve never had professional-grade tools built specifically for them,” says Adam Leeb, founder and CEO of Astrohaus. “While gamers have an entire industry creating specialized features for them, writers have been forced to rely on general-purpose keyboards and add-on software to track their work.”

The novelty will be launched on Kickstarter in February, and the device is scheduled to be released at the end of 2025.
