At CES 2025, Samsung Electronics Vice President and CEO Han Jong-hee announced that the company will launch a subscription for AI features for Galaxy devices, including the upcoming Galaxy S25 smartphones, in February 2025. According to Korean outlet ETNews, in addition to the subscription for smartphones, Samsung will also launch a subscription for the Ballie home robot, which the company plans to release in 2025. The robot will feature a variety of AI-powered functions.

Devices that have already been released, such as the Galaxy S24 and other smartphones with Galaxy AI features, will not require an additional subscription at least until the end of 2025. However, it is likely that Samsung will introduce new AI capabilities that will be available only with a subscription.

As a reminder, Samsung previously announced that the Galaxy Unpacked event, where the new Galaxy S25 smartphones will be revealed, will take place on January 22, 2025. The event is also expected to showcase an augmented reality headset and the Galaxy Ring 2 smart ring.
