Microsoft may adapt Windows for portable gaming PCs such as ASUS ROG Ally X or Lenovo Legion Go. Microsoft Vice President of Next Generation Jason Ronald said that in 2025, we should expect changes in the experience of portable games on the Windows platform. It was reported by The Verge.

It is known that Xbox has been working on a portable console for a long time. According to Ronald, Microsoft plans to transfer the Xbox experience to Windows computers, and not vice versa.

‘We’ve been innovating in the console space for a long time, and as we’ve partnered with other companies in the industry, it’s about how we can bring the innovations we’ve developed in the console space to the PC and bring them to the handheld market,’ said Ronald.

Ronald says that users will see changes in Windows this year. While the Xbox’s own portable console will appear only in a few years.

‘I’d say it’s a combination of the best of Xbox and Windows, because we’ve spent the last 20 years building a world-class operating system, but it hasn’t gone beyond the console,’ says Ronald. ’We’re focused on how to bring those capabilities for players and developers to the broader Windows ecosystem.

Ronald says the goal is to put the Xbox in the spotlight, ‘not the Windows desktop you have today.’
