Apple will start production of its AirPods wireless headphones in India for the first time in early 2025. This is reported by Bloomberg.
The Taiwanese company Foxconn, which has factories in India, will be engaged in production. The supplier’s unit will start assembling AirPods at a new plant near Hyderabad in Telangana state around the first quarter of 2025.
Apple is actively moving its production from China to India. Earlier, the company decided to open workshops in India to assemble basic iPhone 17 models.
The company is actively expanding its production capacity in India, taking advantage of government subsidies from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, a skilled workforce, and the country’s growing technological capabilities. India has become an important element of the company’s strategy to reduce its dependence on China.
Most of the AirPods that will be assembled in India next year will likely also be shipped to other markets around the world.
