We have repeatedly written that Google is preparing to release the Pixel 9a smartphone. Thanks to our colleagues at Android Headlines, we already know the detailed specifications, price, and colors of the device.
The Pixel 9a will run on the Tensor G4 chipset, like the rest of the Pixel 9 family. The device will have 8 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 128/256 GB UFS 3.1 storage.
The smartphone will have a 6.28-inch display with a resolution of 2424×1080p, 120 Hz refresh rate, 240 Hz touch sampling rate, 2700 nits peak brightness and Gorilla Glass 3. The rear panel will feature a 48MP f/1.7 main camera with Samsung ISOCELL GN8 sensor and a 13MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera with Sony IMX712 sensor. The IMX712 module will also be used for the front camera.
As for the battery, it will have a capacity of 5100 mAh, support 23W of wired charging and 7.5W of wireless charging. The Pixel 9a will be protected against dust and water according to the IP68 standard. The phone will measure 154.7 x 73.3 x 8.9 mm and weigh 185.9 g. This means that it will be slightly taller and wider than its predecessor, but weigh less – all with a 13% larger battery.
The smartphone will be available in Obsidian, Porcelain, Iris, and Peony colors. The price will start at $499 for the 128GB model. The Pixel 9a will ship with Android 15 on board and will be supported for seven years. The smartphone will be released in March 2025.
