Google has filed a petition with the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to review the agreement between Microsoft and OpenAI on hosting on Microsoft servers. The company calls on the regulator to intervene and force Microsoft to terminate the agreement. This is reported by Android Headlines.
In particular, the FTC’s attention was drawn to the integration of Microsoft’s cloud services with its other products, such as Office and security tools. The regulator was also interested in how the company is implementing OpenAI technologies in its services, including the Azure cloud platform and the Bing search engine, which competes with Google Search.
Google aims to provide fairer conditions for its cloud computing customers. In its appeal, the company notes that it does not want Google Cloud users to be forced to turn to Microsoft servers to use ChatGPT.
