Sony Pictures has presented the official trailer for 28 Years Later, the third film in the series launched by the cult film 28 Days Later, considered one of the best in the zombie genre. The premiere is scheduled for June 19, 2025.

Oscar winner Danny Boyle and Oscar nominee Alex Garland, who worked on the first 28 Days Later film, return as director and screenwriter, respectively. Also starring in 28 Years Later are actors Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, Rafe Fiennes and many others.

The film will tell the story of the events that take place almost thirty years after the rage virus broke out of a biological weapons laboratory. Under strict quarantine, some people managed to survive among the infected. One such group is those who live on a small island connected to the mainland by a single bridge.

Although the group’s life has been difficult but relatively peaceful, everything changes when one of the members travels to the mainland on a dangerous mission. Once in the dark heart of the infected land, he discovers secrets, incredible things, and horrors that have changed not only the infected but also the other survivors.

By the way, fans of the series may have noticed that one of the zombies shown looks somewhat familiar and resembles the protagonist of the first movie. According to the list of actors on IMDB, Cillian Murphy, who played the main role in 28 Days Later, will appear in 28 Years Later.
