Denys Rudyi, who worked as a lead level designer for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 from 2019 to 2023, presented the first gameplay trailer and new screenshots of his game BRUTALIST.

In the 12-minute video, you can see a man in a chemical defense suit exploring bizarre landscapes and brutalist buildings, among which you can recognize some of Kyiv’s brutalist landmarks, such as the Salyut Hotel on Ivan Mazepa Street, or the buildings of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv at VDNH, etc.

And although at the beginning of development the author claimed that BRUTALIST is a meditative third-person game where you need to explore paths, find passages, solve puzzles, beware of radiation and monitor oxygen levels, at the end of the trailer you can see weapons, zombies and a little action.

BRUTALIST is being developed on Unreal Engine 5, will have Ukrainian localization (Russian localization is also available, unfortunately), and is due to be released on Steam sometime in 2025.
