It can be debated whether the current Toyota Supra coupe is a true descendant of the legend or just a Japanese version of the BMW Z4. Nevertheless, Toyota itself is doing everything to make its car iconic and turn it into a real dream car for boys. The latest example is the launch of the limited edition Toyota GR Supra A90 Final Edition, which symbolizes the preparation for the completion of the car’s production cycle, which should happen in a year and a half.
Unlike numerous special editions, which are usually limited to stickers and plates, the Toyota GR Supra A90 Final Edition has received a wide range of improvements: in fact, it’s like tuning for street racing, but now it’s all offered from the factory! The most important thing is the improvement of aerodynamic qualities, increase in engine power, and chassis modifications.
Even visually, the Toyota GR Supra A90 Final Edition coupe stands out thanks to a splitter under the front bumper, a rear wing, and air ducts on the hood. The latter hides the inline 6-cylinder 3-liter turbo engine, which has been given a modified intake and a straight-through exhaust system: it should sound good! A new engine management program was also added, and together with the changes to the intake and exhaust, all of this resulted in 435 hp and 570 Nm – up from 340 hp and 500 Nm in the standard 6-cylinder coupe of the current generation Toyota Supra.
Other refinements include a KW suspension with adjustable settings, more efficient brakes with perforated discs and reinforced hoses, and improved cooling of the rear differential with electronically controlled locking. It also has new wheels – 19-inch front and 20-inch rear – shod with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.
The interior of the Toyota GR Supra A90 Final Edition is also noticeably different from the regular model. After all, the red and black interior is decorated with Recaro Podium CF bucket seats, which are also made in red and black. And literally – one seat is red, and the other is completely black. And behind these seats is an X-shaped body amplifier.
A total of 300 copies of the Toyota GR Supra A90 Final Edition sport coupe will be produced for the Japanese and European markets, and there is no doubt that all of them will become a collector’s item for fans of the model. Production of the Toyota GR Supra A90 Final Edition will begin in the spring of 2025, with sales continuing throughout the rest of next year.
