CBS presented the trailer of the new medical detective series Watson. This is another attempt to bring the story of Holmes and Watson to the modern world.
A year after Holmes’ presumed death at the hands of Moriarty, Watson returns to the profession of a doctor and assembles a team of interns in Pittsburgh to treat rare and unusual diseases. Soon, however, Watson must confront his past and Moriarty.
Attempts to bring Sherlock Holmes into our time are sometimes very successful, such as Sherlock with Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, or Elementary with Johnny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu as Dr. Joan Watson, who sometimes did even more for the investigation than Holmes himself.
The titular role of Dr. John Watson in the new series will be played by a black actor Morris Chestnut, who may be familiar to you from The Best Man and the Nurse Jackie and Rosewood series.
Watson is scheduled to premiere on CBS on January 26, 2025.
