Apple recently confirmed that iOS 18.2 will be released in December 2024. Now, a potential release date for the system has appeared on the Internet, MacRumors writes.

Apple is likely planning to release iOS 18.2 on Monday, December 9, based on a recent message that UK carrier EE sent to its customers. In the message, EE said that on December 9, the iPhone feature known as “Wi-Fi calling to other supported devices connected to iCloud” will stop working. This feature allows users to make Wi-Fi calls to devices such as iPads and Macs even when their iPhone is not nearby. The latest iOS 18.2 developer beta contains a new version of EE settings. In these settings, the operator has removed the “Add Wi-Fi calls for other devices” switch.

Most updates to carrier settings are bundled with iOS updates, except for those that contain bug fixes. Therefore, EE probably indirectly revealed the release date of iOS 18.2.

With the iOS 18.2 update, Apple will continue to expand the capabilities of Apple Intelligence. For example, the system will receive Image Playground, an application for creating stylized images. In addition, the manufacturer will also install Genmoji, a set for creating custom emojis, integrate ChatGPT into Siri, add Visual Intelligence, which will be able to identify objects and places around you using the iPhone 16 camera, and much more.
