HBO Max has revealed new details about the release of The Last of Us season two. The long-awaited sequel will be released in the spring of 2025. This was reported by IGN.

The showrunner of the series, Craig Mazin, noted that it would take more than one season to fully transfer the story of the second part of the game. He also reported that the second season of the show will have fewer episodes than the previous one and will prepare viewers for a “much bigger” third season. This may actually be related to the writers’ strike in Hollywood in the summer of 2023.

The stars of The Last of Us will return in the second season: Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsay as Ellie, and Gabrielle Luna as Tommy. New cast members were announced earlier: Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Masino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, and Spencer Lord as Owen. Catherine O’Gara will also join the cast, playing a character that was not in the games. But the most anticipated casting is the role of Abby, played by Caitlin Dever.
