The Australian company Aristocrat Leisure wants to sell the Israeli studio Plarium, which has more than 700 employees from Ukraine, for $820 million. The buyer will be the Swedish company Modern Times. This was reported by Reuters.

The transaction price consists of a fixed payment of $620 million and a contingent consideration of $200 million if certain financial targets are achieved over the 2025-2028 calendar years.

Modern Times, a digital entertainment company, notes that the acquisition of Plarium will help it build “one of the strongest mid-core mobile game portfolios in the industry.” The new combination is expected to generate annual revenue of $1.1 billion.

At the same time, Aristocrat Leisure, a well-known slot machine manufacturer in Australia, notes that the decision to sell the Israeli studio was made due to a change in focus in the gaming market.

As a reminder, Plarium is a well-known developer and publisher of mobile games, whose most popular project is RAID: Shadow Legends. Originally, it is an Israeli company, but the largest number of offices and employees are located in Ukraine. Employees work remotely across Ukraine, and the company has offices in Lviv, Kyiv, and Kharkiv.
