To create Project Borealis: Prologue, a team of fan-developers from Icebreaker Industries used the Half-Life 2: Episode 3 script plan once published by the former lead writer of Half-Life 2, Mark Laidlaw.

Inspired by the ending of Half-Life 2: Episode Two, the developers decided to try to realize a coherent storyline for the episodic series. The Prologue is only the first part and will return players to Gordon Freeman’s HEV suit and give other fans a glimpse into the next chapters of his journey.

The game features faithful recreations of game mechanics and animations from the original Valve games, completely updated visuals, an original soundtrack, and will demonstrate what players can expect from a full-fledged game.
