Google Maps users will be able to customize the vehicle marker to match their car. The feature is currently under testing, Android Police reports.

Currently, the service offers four vehicle icons to choose from: a standard blue marker with an arrow, as well as a red car, a yellow SUV, and a green pickup truck. These icons were introduced almost four years ago and have not been updated since.

With the upcoming update, users will be able to choose from five additional car icons, including a sedan, SUV, jeep, hatchback, and a Tesla-like model. In addition, users will be able to personalize these new icons by choosing up to eight colors: Glacier White, Night Black, Aqua Green, Poppy Red, and others.

The original blue arrow and the old vehicle icons will remain available, but it looks like only the new icons will support color customization. So far, the new feature has only been spotted on iOS devices, while it is not available on Android.

By the way, Google Maps has also recently gained integration with Gemini. The chatbot allows users to ask about places to visit and build a route in a live conversation format.
