NVIDIA urges users to update their drivers as soon as possible due to a new security vulnerability. The call applies to GeForce, RTX, Quadro, NVS, and Tesla owners. This was reported by 80lv.
“NVIDIA GPU Display Driver for Windows and Linux contains a vulnerability which could allow a privileged attacker to escalate permissions. A successful exploit of this vulnerability might lead to code execution, denial of service, escalation of privileges, information disclosure, and data tampering,” the company said in an official statement.
GeForce owners on Windows systems are urged to update to driver version 566.03, owners of NVDIDIA RTX, Quadro and NVS branches of R565 to 566.03, R550 to 553.24, R535 to 538.95. NVIDIA also asks to update Tesla graphics chip drivers for data centers.
