Apple is postponing the launch of a more affordable version of the Vision Pro headset until at least 2027. Instead, the company will focus its efforts on releasing a headset with the M5 chip in 2025. This was reported by insider @mingchikuo.
As I understand it, production of the cheaper Vision Pro has been delayed beyond 2027 for a while now. This means Apple's only new head-mounted display device in 2025 will be the Vision Pro with an upgraded M5 processor.

According to the insider, Apple is not sure that a simple price reduction will help the product become popular, as there are no common use cases. Ming-Chi Kuo gives an analogy with HomePod and HomePod mini smart speakers. Even the release of a cheaper version could not ensure the popularity of this gadget.
A cheaper version of Vision Pro was planned for 2025. It would have been made of simpler materials and would have required a connection to an iPhone or Mac to work.
