Ubisoft has released its financial report for the first half of the 2024-2025 fiscal year. The company’s sales amounted to €672 million, 19.6% less than in the same period last year, GamesIndustry.biz reports.

The company’s net bookings, total monetary amounts and order units minus the amount of cancellations, deletions, etc., amounted to €642 million, down 21.9% year-on-year. Of this, digital bookings accounted for €527 million, down 26.5% year-on-year, and the back catalogue was responsible for €496 million, a 28.95% drop.

The company reported that its cost reduction program is “well underway”. In addition, Ubisoft continues to review its “player- and gameplay-centric approach”. The company is also taking steps to protect its reputation after reports of problems internally and maximize game sales.

The financial report also noted that the company’s global staff has decreased by more than 2 thousand employees over the past 2 years. As of the end of September 2024, Ubisoft has 18,666 employees worldwide.

The developer also announced that in the first half of the fiscal year, i.e. the period from April to September 2024, the number of active monthly players in the company’s projects increased by 3% to 37 million. About 3 million new accounts were created every month.

The company confirmed that sales of Star Wars Outlaws were disappointing despite good estimates. At the same time, the Assassin’s Creed and Rainbow Six Siege franchises “benefited from a strong audience with over 30 million unique active users each.”

The Assassin’s Creed franchise has brought in about €4 billion, Raibow Six Siege – about €3.5 billion, Far Cry – about €2 billion. Taking into account three more franchises – The Division, Ghost Recon, and Just Dance – Ubisoft has a total of 6 series, each of which has brought the company more than €1 billion.
