Hyundai recently unveiled its new Hyundai Initium concept car, which is interesting for two reasons.

Firstly, the Hyundai Initium concept hints at a future production hydrogen car. It is worth recalling that Hyundai has been working on hydrogen car technologies for 27 years and periodically produces production models with exclusively hydrogen powertrains. This is exactly what a crossover should be like, as the Hyundai Initium concept is a harbinger of it. Moreover, the debut of the production model is scheduled for quite soon – in 2025.

Certain technical characteristics are already known. The power of the electric motor is stated at 150 kW (204 hp), and the range between hydrogen refueling should reach 650 km. In addition, the developers of the Hyundai Initium concept promise support for V2L technology and a built-in 220-volt outlet for household appliances.

Secondly, the Hyundai Initium concept is a hint of Hyundai’s new corporate design, which has already been named Art of Steel: straight lines, numerous angles, and pixelated graphics. The only question is whether this Art of Steel design will be unique to hydrogen cars, or will it become common for other Hyundai models? The future will answer all the questions.
