The appearance of this mid-size pickup truck from KIA Tasman has been expected for a long time: the company has talked about its plans, spy photos have been released, and announcements have been made. And now, finally, the first official information about the KIA Tasman.

The KIA Tasman is aimed at the segment dominated by Toyota Hilux, Mitsubishi L200, Ford Ranger, Volkswagen Amarok. However, the new pickup truck should be one of the largest among competitors – it has a 5.41-meter length and a 3.27-meter wheelbase. It should also be one of the best in terms of load capacity: a maximum of 1195 kg, although the exact payload will depend on the vehicle version.

One of the features of the KIA Tasman will be the widest possible range of options: a double cab with a standard body, a single cab with an extended body, a flatbed version, rear or all-wheel drive, basic equipment or X-Line and X-Pro variants with improved off-road capabilities. For example, in the latter case, 17-inch off-road tires are used, and the ground clearance has been increased by 28 mm to 252 mm.

Of course, the KIA Tasman will also offer a choice of engines. Under the hood, there can be either a 2.5-liter 281-horsepower gasoline turbo engine or a 2.2-liter 210-horsepower turbodiesel engine. The transmission is also at the buyer’s choice: a manual 6-speed box or an 8-speed automatic, rear or all-wheel drive.

The interior of the new KIA Tasman attracts attention not so much with another combination of a bunch of displays (a pair of 12.3-inch displays and an additional 5-inch display for climate control) as with its transformation capabilities. For example, the center armrest turns into a mini-table, and there are drawers for things under the rear seat – similar features are found in competitors, but not all of them.

It should be added that sales of the new KIA Tasman will start in 2025. The first in line will be the markets of Asia, Australia, and Africa; however, the geography of sales is expected to expand further – the KIA Tasman pickup truck is expected to become global. Who knows, maybe we will see it in Ukraine?
