The head of Xbox Game Studios Alan Hartman will leave the company at the end of November 2024, and his place will be taken by Rare studio director Craig Duncan. It is reported by GamesIndustry.biz.

Alan Hartman is known for leading and creating Turn 10, the studio behind the Forza franchise, in 2005. Last year, he became the head of Xbox Game Studios. During his 36-year career in the video game industry, he has also worked on such popular game series as Age of Empires and Fable.

His place will be taken by Craig Duncan, head of Rare’s studio. Duncan has been leading Rare for the past 14 years. Under his leadership, the studio created the multiplayer hit Sea of Thieves, which has attracted more than 40 million players since its launch in 2018.

In his new position, Craig Duncan will oversee Halo Studios(formerly 343), The Coalition, Turn 10, Playground Games, Rare, Obsidian, Ninja Theory, Compulsion Games, The Initiative, Double Fine, InXile, Undead Labs, World’s Edge, and others. He will report to Game Content and Studios President Matt Boothy.
