Nintendo, to put it mildly, has a negative attitude towards emulation of its consoles. The company sues emulator developers more than others, so it was very unexpected to learn that Nintendo did not neglect to use an emulator in its own museum. This was reported by PC Gamer.
X user @ChrisMack32 posted a video from the Nintendo Museum in Japan. He was at a stand with a Super Mario World game for the SNES console, which anyone can play with a gamepad. The visitor decided to disconnect the gamepad from the cable and heard the familiar sound of a USB device being disconnected in Windows.

For a company that explicitly prohibits the use of ROM files, even if you own the original game cartridge, this is very inconsistent behavior. Besides, if there’s one place you’d expect to see a working SNES in perfect condition, not an emulator, it’s the Nintendo Museum.
