Besides the “budget” Vision headset, Apple is also developing another interesting device, Bloomberg reports.
We are talking about smart glasses. They are being developed by the Vision Products Group team.
According to the report, Apple wants to save some of its multibillion-dollar investment in Apple Vision Pro visual intelligence research and development by introducing this technology into more products. We have already seen this with the announcement of visual intelligence in the iPhone 16. Apple’s next step will reportedly be to bring it to the glasses form factor.
These won’t be full-fledged AR glasses with displays, but rather smart glasses with built-in cameras, speakers, and microphones – similar to Meta’s Ray Ban glasses, which have become quite popular. Meta sells the device for $299.
If everything goes according to plan, Apple will launch the new product no earlier than 2027.
