An irrepressible historian and solo (update - no longer, there are three people in the studio) indie developer Vitaliy Chizh (Brenntkopf Studio Kharkiv), author of the games "Twenty-Second: Stories of Underground Kharkiv" and "Cosmo Odyssey: A Journey to Mars" and seemingly a dozen other games presented the Steam-page and teaser of his new game - "Drum: Master Trader".
"Baraban: Master Trader" is once again a game about Kharkiv of the future that is a little stuck in the past and about the largest market in Eastern Europe, Kharkiv's Barabashovo, better known as the Baraban.
"The year is 2054. Kharkiv is growing, building, and restoring the places of worship of the past. You are Yaroslav Varenyk, a student at one of the city's universities. Your parents bought you an apartment in Pavlovo Pole, and your task is to make it comfortable! To do this, you will have to go to the market to buy different things and bargain!" the game's description says.
The author promises a comedic plot, comic book graphics, and the opportunity and necessity to bargain fiercely for each item. The only language announced for Baraban: Master of Bargain is Ukrainian.
All of Vitaliy Chyzh's games are parodies in some ways, philosophical parables in others. The author doesn't care about graphics because he's not a professional developer and does everything himself, so his projects have a strong vibe of 1990s games. But they are very sincere.
The release date of Baraban: Master of Bargain has not yet been announced, but knowing the pace at which Vitaliy Chyzh works, it is likely to happen by the end of 2024.
