After the debut of the new generation Dacia Duster, it is finally the turn of the Dacia Bigster crossover, which has been expected for several years in a row.
In keeping with its name, the Dacia Bigster crossover is much larger than its smaller brother: it has a 4.57-meter length (+23 cm) and a 2.7-meter wheelbase (+4 cm), and the body height has also increased slightly. The headlights and lights of both models are quite similar, but otherwise there are many differences: the Dacia Bigster crossover gets 17-19-inch wheels, original front door and rear roof pillars, and the possibility of 2-color body painting.
The range of engines is also different and similar at the same time. For example, the Dacia Bigster crossover offers the HYBRID 155 power unit (155 hp), consisting of a 1.8-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor, as well as an automatic robotic transmission. For comparison, the Dacia Duster has a HYBRID 140 power unit with a 1.6-liter engine.
Other options are 1.2-liter turbo engines TCe 130 and TCe 140. Both are equipped with manual transmissions, but the difference is in the type of drive: the TCe 130 version has all-wheel drive (currently the only Dacia Bigster with all-wheel drive); the TCe 140 version has front-wheel drive.
The interior of the new Dacia Bigster is also reminiscent of the Dacia Duster, but it seems to offer the best of both worlds. For example, there's a digital instrument cluster (no arrowheads), a large 10-inch center display, dual-zone climate control, and ventilation deflectors for the rear row of seats. By the way, there is only one rear row of seats. Expectations of a 7-seater interior of the Dacia Duster did not come true, the car offers a regular 5-seater interior. However, the increase in size has led to an increase in the trunk - up to 667 liters!
Sales of the new Dacia Duster in Europe should start in the coming months. The exact price is currently unknown, but it is expected that the price tag of the Dacia Duster will start at around 25 thousand euros.
