Samsung has gotten much better at releasing new OS updates in recent years, but it looks like Android 15 will break the streak. The company has confirmed that a new version of the software will not be released until 2025, 9to5Google reports.

The Korean manufacturer spoke about this during the SDC 2024 conference. Samsung does not say why the update was postponed. But it seems that the company has encountered some problems related to the proprietary One UI 7.0 interface that will ship with Android 15.

The first beta version of One UI 7.0 was expected to be released in August, but it was never released. Now Samsung has confirmed that it will release the Android 15 update in beta “before the end of the year.”

As for the stable release, we should expect it in early 2025 along with the new Galaxy S25 series of flagship smartphones. For comparison, in 2023, Samsung released a stable version of Android 14 with One UI 6.0 at the end of October.
