The upcoming iPhone SE 4 will have a more modern look, an A18 chip, and the same cameras as the iPhone 15. The new model of the most affordable iPhone is to be officially unveiled in 2025. This is reported by 9to5Mac with reference to its own sources.

While the current generation iPhone SE looks like the iPhone 8, the new model will have a more modern look, similar to the iPhone 14. The device will have an OLED display with a notch on top and a resolution of 1170 x 2532. However, Dynamic Island will remain exclusive to more expensive versions.

There will also be support for Face ID. Previous reports indicate that Apple wants to make the new SE compatible with Apple Intelligence features, and the smartphone will have 8 GB of RAM. Apple will use the same SoC variant as in the basic iPhone 16 with a 5-core GPU.

As for the camera, the iPhone SE 4 will have the same 48MP widescreen sensor and 12MP front-facing camera as the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus. However, the new SE will not have ultra-wide-angle or telephoto lenses. Apple is likely to take advantage of the 48-megapixel sensor to claim that the new SE is capable of taking photos with 2x optical zoom.

One of the main highlights of the iPhone SE 4 will be Apple’s first 5G modem. The company acquired Intel’s modem business in 2019. Codenamed Centauri, the modem is quite ambitious and will also work with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. It should significantly reduce battery consumption.

According to preliminary reports, the iPhone SE 4 will be announced in the spring of 2025. Although the current iPhone SE costs from $429, analysts believe that the next generation will be more expensive and potentially cost from $459 to $499.
