AMD has released a new version of its Adrenalin 24.9.1 software with improvements to its Fluid Motion Frames 2 (AFMF 2) frame generation technology. The technology is targeted at RX 6000 and RX 7000 series graphics cards and Ryzen processors with integrated Radeon 700M graphics, and does not require additional integration from game developers like FSR.

Improvements in AFMF 2 will be noticed by players of dynamic games. The company has reduced image lag and improved performance. There is also support for a borderless window mode (for RX 7000 graphics cards).

Support for interaction with AMD Radeon Chill5 has been added. This is a technology that optimizes the gaming load for maximum energy efficiency when operating on battery power.

Baldurs Gate III tests show an average frame rate increase of 2.5 times when using HYPR-RX mode with AFMF 2 enabled.

You can enable AFMF 2 in the HYPR-RX profile if you own an RX 7000 series graphics card or a Ryzen 7000 processor with integrated Radeon graphics. Radeon RX 6000 owners can enable AFMF 2 globally in the Graphics Settings section.
