Right now, sales of the Mazda EZ-6 are starting on the Chinese market, so we have full technical information about this new car, which is quite important. After all, unlike a bunch of local models intended only for the Chinese market, this particular Mazda EZ-6 (but with the name Mazda 6e) can reach Europe, and later – possibly Ukraine!

The all-new Mazda EZ-6 is a sizable 4.92-meter passenger car with a nearly 2.9-meter wheelbase. That is, the Mazda EZ-6 (or Mazda 6e) is definitely not inferior to the previous “six” in size. At the same time, the new Mazda EZ-6 has completely changed the body format – now it is not a 4-door sedan, but a 5-door liftback: the trunk lid opens together with the glass, although the overhang resembles a sedan. The question of a station wagon is still open, but it is unlikely to appear.

Third, the novelty has changed not only the body type but also the layout and power plants. From now on, the Mazda EZ-6 (or Mazda 6e) has rear-wheel drive, and the electric motor will always be responsible for driving. However, there are options.

The first option is a hybrid with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine-generator and intermediate batteries with a capacity of 19 or 24 kWh. In this case, the electric motor develops 160 kW or 218 hp, and you can drive 130 or 200 km on battery power alone; but with the support of a gasoline generator, the total range reaches 1300 km.

The second option: it will be an all-electric vehicle, for which two batteries are also available – with a capacity of 56 or 69 kWh. In the latter case, the range is claimed to be 600 km, but in reality it will be less. In addition, a feature of the all-electric version is a more powerful electric motor – 190 kW or 258 hp.

There is also more information about the interior and equipment of the new Mazda EZ-6. For example, we already know about a 10.2-inch dashboard and a 14.6-inch central touchscreen display, 64-color background lighting, and a projection screen. In addition, the trunk volume has been revealed – from 479 to 1174 liters, depending on the rear seat position. Moreover, the electric version of the Mazda EZ-6 additionally receives a 99-liter front trunk.
