Over the year of the Seeds of Bravery project, 59 Ukrainian startups have received grant funding totaling €2 million. These results were presented at a press conference at IT Arena.

Seeds of Bravery is a €20 million project funded by the European Union under the European Innovation Council (EIC) to support Ukrainian tech startups by bringing them closer to the EU.

In the first year of operation, startups in various niches, from AI to healthtech, received grants ranging from 35 to 50 thousand euros to scale their products and technologies.

During the conference, Oleksandr Borniakov, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, emphasized the close connection between the project and the state strategy for the development of the digital economy and innovative growth.

He noted that Seeds of Bravery is a catalyst for digital transformation in various sectors, especially in the context of post-war recovery. Through targeted financial support for startups and small and medium-sized businesses, the project helps stimulate innovative solutions.

The event also noted that one of the main objectives of the project is to accelerate the development of deep tech technologies. More Seeds of Bravery programs were announced, including Deep Tech Incubators, which offer grants of up to €25 thousand for early-stage startups.

The flagship Ukraine Reconstruction program is another important initiative that offers grants of up to EUR 25 thousand to technical SMEs that play a key role in the country’s post-war recovery.

The event also showcased support for global events. The Ministry of Digital Transformation and Seeds of Bravery promote the participation of Ukrainian startups in international conferences. For example, a delegation from Ukraine recently took part in Nordeep Summit 2024, and 24 Ukrainian developments will be presented at Web Summit 2024 in Portugal.
