The Indian authorities intend to launch an investigation into the cause of the fire at the Tata Electronics plant, which produces components for Apple’s iPhone. This is reported by Reuters.

The incident occurred at the plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, on Saturday, September 28, 2024. According to a fire department spokesperson, the fire at the plant started in an area used for chemical storage.

Earlier, Tata Electronics said it was investigating the cause of the incident and would take measures to protect employees.

By the way, this year Apple will produce the most expensive iPhone models, namely the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, in India for the first time. Foxconn will start assembling new devices.

In addition to Foxconn, Apple in India cooperates with Pegatron and Tata Group. These companies will also soon begin production of new Pro models.

As you know, Apple is ramping up iPhone production outside of China, particularly in India, to mitigate the risks of tensions between China and the United States.
