Xbox is officially launching a new subscription plan – Game Pass Standard. It was first announced in July 2024, when the company announced changes to existing plans, price increases, and the elimination of Game Pass Console.

The Game Pass Standard will cost $14.99 per month and will have certain restrictions. This plan will not provide access to new games on the day of their release, so you won’t be able to play S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl or Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 right away.

However, users will still get access to the benefits of the Core plan, such as discounts and promotions and access to multiplayer, as well as access to hundreds of games in the extensive Xbox library. This plan in particular is only available on Xbox consoles.

If players want to get free access to games on the day of their release, they need to apply for the Game Pass PC plan if PC is the only platform, or Ultimate if the main platform is a console.

The PC plan costs $11.99 and includes all the benefits of the Standard plan, access to games on release day, and an EA Play subscription.

The Ultimate plan, which costs $19.99 per month, will work on both PC and consoles, and will offer the same benefits as the PC plan, with the addition of cloud gaming and exclusive offers.
