Huawei has held a presentation showing a new generation of foldable smartphones.

Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design is the world’s first mass-produced smartphone that folds into three parts. The phone is only 3.6 mm thick when fully open and 12.8 mm thick when closed. For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Fold6 has a 12.1 mm thick body.

According to the manufacturer, the new model has two hinges that are 25% stronger than other folding devices on the market.

When closed, the Mate XT has a standard 6.4-inch FHD+ display. If you expand it halfway, you get a larger 7.9-inch screen with 2K resolution. But the real “magic” happens when you fully unfold the gadget. In this state, it has a large widescreen 10.2-inch 3K display.

It is not yet known what processor Mate XT is powered by. According to rumors, this is the flagship Kirin 9010 chip or its improved version.

Despite the complex hinge design, Huawei has managed to squeeze a fairly large battery into the Mate XT. This is a 5600 mAh carbon-silicon battery that supports 66W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
