Qualcomm plans to raise the price of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor. As a result, new flagship smartphones will also become more expensive, according to Ice Universe insider.

According to the leak, Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will be 20.68% more expensive than its predecessor. Ice Universe claims that Qualcomm is going to sell the next-generation SoC for $240. This is almost half the price of the most affordable smartphone with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, the Redmi K70 Pro, which costs $507 in China.

For comparison, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 reportedly costs about $200.

By the way, the price of the new SoC is likely to be justified. According to the leaks, the next-generation Qualcomm chip will receive significant improvements. For example, it will be equipped with an in-house developed Oryon core for the first time.

The new Qualcomm processor will debut in October 2024. OnePlus flagship will be the first or one of the first to receive it.
