Larian Studios has released the seventh patch for Baldur’s Gate 3, which brought official support for user modifications to the game and seems to be very popular. Since the release of the update on September 5, 2024, more than a million modifications have already been installed, Eurogamer writes.

This was personally announced by Larian founder Swen Vincke. The update adds new “evil” endings to the game, a custom mod manager where you can browse, install, and use community-created mods, and slightly updated split-screen gameplay.

So far, mods are available only for owners of the PC version of the game, but the developers are working on adding mods to consoles.

“We’ll start with the PC version. The console version will come a bit later because it has to go through a bunch of submission processes. It also gives us the time to see whatever goes wrong and fix it,” Swen Vincke says.

Larian Studios also reported that they want to add a photo mode, cross-platform multiplayer, and some bug fixes to the game. After that, the work on the game will be fully completed, and the studio will focus on its next big project.
